Buyer's Story: Used Leopard 46 Purchase

The new owner of a Leopard 46, former charter boat, sent in this note describing his satisfaction with the phase-out process and the Moorings Brokerage team.

"Last week, July 31st, I had a big decision to make. Would I close the purchase contract with the Moorings on S/Y Serendipity before all the conditions were met on the CAOV which the Moorings had agreed to correct?

My Tortola based attorney advised me not to close prior to all the items being repaired or replaced. Even though this was against my better judgment, I placed my faith and their representations and closed on July 31st.

My Captain and I were encouraged to go on an extended shake down cruise and note all problems with the vessel and return to the Moorings phase out base at Hodge's Creek August 8th. Robert Ansell and his crew worked all day yesterday, August 8, to tackle 14 items. I can report that they have 2 items left this morning that are expected to be completed in short order.

To date, I am extremely satisfied with the service and repairs made by Robert and his crew. In addition, I want to commend Richard Vass for his professionalism. He has been detailed, engaging and exceptional with his follow through. I am well aware that I am not his only client, but he made me feel that I was.

As it turned out, I was able to enjoy my boat for a week in these beautiful waters of the BVI while Carnival was carrying on, instead of being holed up in a hotel room."
